Super Foods

Super foods are separated by color, the color of the super food tells your the benefits that are available from each of the food.


Red:
Pink Grapefruit
Red Bell Peppers
Tomatoes
Watermelon

Reds contain lycopene. Lycopence helps prevent lung cancer. 

Purple:
Concord Grapes
Blueberries
Prunes

Purples contain anthocyanins, anthocyanins fights off heart disease by preventing blood clots. Can also help lower the risk of cancer.

Green:
Spinach
Broccoli
Brussel Sprouts
Callard Greens
Bok Choy

Greens have lutein. Lutein reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke. It also helps to fight off age-related macular degeneration. The darker green and leafy vegetable are high in folate, a B vitamin, that prevents heart disease. Sulforaphane was also found in these green vegetables are shown to detoxify cancer-causing chemicals.

Orange:

The beta carotenes in these orange super fruits and vegetables may prevent cancer, particularly of the lung, esophagus and stomach. They may also reduce risk of heart disease and improve immune function.
White:

Onions

Whites contain anthoxanthins and allicin, these lower blood pressure and protect against stomach cancer.
